If you're anything like me, your pets have become family members. When you can't be home for them, you want them taken care of with the same love and attention you give them. That's exactly why I started TOP DOG Pet Sitting & Dog Walking Company, because I am a lifelong animal lover, have pets of my own (see Angel and Sydney in pics) and understand.
I was born in Connecticut and attended Pace University in New York pursuing a Business Degree in Marketing, but my real passion has always been with animals.
I grew up in the small town of Simsbury, west of Hartford, with two siblings and a countless array of dogs, cats, a bird, guinea pigs, hamsters and fish. I also rode and cared for horses for over 6 years. I have always developed strong bonds with animals.
After college I moved from New York City to Philadelphia to continue my career in financial services, working in marketing for companies such as ING, Lincoln Financial and The Hartford. But I never lost my interest in animals. In my spare time, I became a volunteer at PAWS (Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society), a group that rescues dogs and cats from area shelters and puts them up for adoption.
When I wanted to purchase my first home, I asked myself, "how can I supplement my income and do something I'll truly enjoy and remain passionate about?" I immediately thought to be a professional pet sitter/dog walker. I had business cards printed right away, created a website and walked my own dogs while passing out cards! Thankfully, it has since taken off and we are a full-time, full-service operation and a team of eight. I wholeheartedly adore my job -- I get to be with animals all day long, get exercise outdoors and interact with wonderful people!
Since early 2005, our business has been based on the belief that the clients' (parents and pets) needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of TOP DOG's business is from repeat clients and referrals. We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in the area.

Caitlin has always had a great affection for animals. She fell in love with a Jack Russell Terrier at the SPCA (see pic). Jake is now 15 years old and still goes for long walks with Caitlin in the Wissahickon. Now that Caitlin lives on her own, she has three wonderful kitties. They all have their own personalities and are so lovable! She understands how it feels to leave a pet behind when going on a trip or even just for the day. That is why she treats each pet as she would her own. It's important to her to make a connection with your "little guys" so they feel comfortable. Caitlin truly enjoys working for TOP DOG Pet Sitting and finds it rewarding to spend time with so many animals. Caitlin has a Bachelors Degree from LaSalle University in Graphic Design.
At a very young age it was apparent that Holly had a passion and a love for animals. She grew up in Delaware County, PA with pets in her household since the day she was born. These pets ranged from fish, hermit crabs, hamsters, and guinea pigs to cats and dogs. Her first job as a teenager was working at a pet store. Holly also was a foster Mom for numerous kittens and a few puppies for whom she later found loving homes. She now lives in Philadelphia with her tabby cat, Bella. Her family pets, Sierra, an English Shepherd, and Fey, a black cat, live just 10 miles away in her hometown. Holly and Sierra enjoy going on walks, fishing trips, and hiking adventures together as often as they can! With her long history in animal care, TOP DOG is the perfect place for Holly to be as she will spread the love that she has for her own animals, to her clients' animals. Holly looks forward to making sure that your pet will be safe and comfortable while you are away.
After graduating from West Virginia University in 2008, Emily moved to Philadelphia to continue her education as a graduate student. Having a degree in Exercise Physiology, she knows the importance of staying fit; the same principles apply to animals which is a major reason why she wanted to be a part of TOP DOG. She has loved animals and been around them her entire life. She's had two dogs (a Chocolate Lab and a Chihuahua mix), six cats, three horses and four Labs whom she raised to be Seeing Eye Dogs. I think the best part about TOP DOG is that, unlike a kennel, your pets will be calm and relaxed in their own comfortable setting. Furthermore, they will be well exercised and in turn much happier upon your return!
Kristin graduated from Cabrini College in 2003 and adopted a very energetic and loving pit bull terrier named Jamey. Kristin loves to go running with Jamey and take her on nature hikes in the Wissahickon woods. Currently Kristin works full time in the Administrative Industry but makes a fantastic dog and cat vacation visitor. She joined TOP DOG so she can formulate a career doing what she loves. Kristin cannot wait to meet your pets and give them all of the exercise, love and attention they deserve!
Heather has been surrounded by animals her entire life. Growing up in Berks County, PA she has had everything from lizards to chickens, rabbits and dogs. While at the University of Delaware, Heather adopted her dog Rufus and volunteered with a local dog rescue. After graduating, she worked for Pfizer Animal Health and learned about various animal diseases, illnesses, and preventions and medications. She is currently attending graduate school at Drexel University’s School of Public Health. In her free time, she loves to take Rufus jogging along the Wissahickon, go skiing, and relax at the beach. Heather knows what a wonderful service TOP DOG is, since she dreads leaving Rufus anywhere he might feel uncomfortable. She looks forward to meeting your “children” and making sure they have a wonderful time while you’re away!
Keith is a transplant from Washington State to Philadelphia. He worked as a ship captain before moving to help his fiancee get through residency at Temple. He has a degree in physics and has taught high school science. Keith grew up with cats and dogs. One of the earliest pictures of him as a toddler is joining some puppies eating their dinner out of the dog bowl!! He presently lives with Maddy, a 3 year old dog adopted from the PSPCA, Moby, a 3 year old adopted cat, and Cleo, a 14 year old cat who is also a transplant from Washington State. Keith enjoys walking and biking with Maddy in the parks. With years of raising dogs he has learned that a well exercised dog is a much happier dog. That's why he decided to join TOP DOG and become part of a team of people dedicated to caring and excercising critters in Philadelphia.
Animals have always been a driving force in Autumn’s life. Very early in her career she made it a personal goal to incorporate animals into her everyday life as much as possible. Growing up, she and her family were puppy raisers for the Seeing Eye puppy community. She has helped raise and train over six puppies! After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, she worked at the Animal Humane Society in Minneapolis for two and a half years before moving back East to Philadelphia. Autumn currently shares her life with Fable the black lab, Carl the mouse, and two goldfish named Mooch and Earl. She understands the power of the human-animal bond and wants to help make your life and the lives of your pets as happy and stress-free as possible!
